Flat roofs have no slope and are available in built up single ply. This type of roof is more commonly seen in residential homes as the space directly underneath it is an attic their pitch or slope can be steep or gradual depending on the home s design and layout. For example given a roof with a rise of 4 feet and a span of 24 feet the pitch is 1 to 6 pitch which can be expressed as the fraction of 1 6.
